Matviy was born in Dnipro city, Ukraine in the family of musicians. When he was 5, he learned to play violin. While studying at Glinka misic college he was a soloist of popular Ukrainian youth 'Violino' band. Matviy participated in concerts in Germany, Bolgaria, the USA and other countries. In 2005 he studied at Prague conservatory. He took part in jazz festivals: «Jazz pod thraldon» (Slovakia, 2008), «Bažant Pohoda» (Slovakia, 2008 р.), «Kolen svêta-2009» (Chech Republic), Alfa Jazz, Chernihiv Jazz Open and others. Matviy works together with Oleg Skrypka and other Ukrainian musicians.
